What we do

About us

For millennia humans have exercised the tradition of 'laying-on-of-hands' as a form of healing and rejuvination. This art has taken on many names and spanned cultures and religions all over the world and is still being practiced today. In fact, there is a surge of people learning how to practice energy work in their desire to help family members, friends and members of their community deal with physical pain and the stresses of every day life.

Women and men in the Mount Vernon and Lisbon and surrounding areas specializing in various alternative healing modalities such as massage therapy, reflexology, yoga and spiritual counseling, have also had special training in this laying on of hands that we now call Healing Touch or Energy Work. Once a month we gather together to volunteer our time to extend a time of prayer and energy work to our local community.

People wanting to receive a Healing Touch treatment are invited to register for a 30 minute session that involves a laying on of hands in order to facilitate the movement of this Universal Healing Energy, and a 15 minute prayer or meditation including an offering of gratitude and petition. This 30 minute energy treatment and 15 minute prayer time takes place in a group setting with each practitioner working one-on-one with a recipient. It is an inter-faith, ecumenical gathering open to anyone who wishes to receive a treatment. Recipient spaces are limited to the amount of volunteer practitioners that commit their time and skill every month.
